As of December 2025, there are now two<span> types of membership <\/span>within the Poseidon Principles Association:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Signatory membership<\/strong>\u00a0applicable to <strong>relevant lenders, lessors, and financial guarantors, including export credit agencies (ECA)<\/strong>. Signatories must report on all business activities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>that are credit products (including bilateral loans, syndicated loans, club deals, and guarantees) secured by vessel mortgages, finance leases secured by title over vessel, or unmortgaged ECA loans tied to a vessel; and<\/li>\n<li>where a vessel or vessels fall under the purview of the IMO, e.g., vessels engaged in international voyages with a gross tonnage of 5,000 and above that have an established Poseidon Principles trajectory whereby the emissions intensity can be measured with IMO DCS data.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>While <strong>associate membership<\/strong> is applicable to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Financial institutions that underwrite and arrange transactions for the shipping industry in the debt and capital markets, including those that have business activities outside the current reporting scope<\/strong> (for example, those that lend on an unsecured basis).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Financial institutions that have business activities that do fall within the reporting scope but are not ready to report the climate alignment of their portfolio<\/strong> (in this case, adjusting membership to a signatory will be encouraged within three years).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Institutions which provide insurance products or conduct other business activities relevant to the marine insurance industry<\/strong> in relation to vessels within the reporting scope.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.7&#8243; header_font=&#8221;Roboto Condensed||||||||&#8221; header_text_color=&#8221;#003d58&#8243; header_font_size=&#8221;44px&#8221; header_2_font=&#8221;Roboto Condensed||||||||&#8221; header_2_text_color=&#8221;#003d58&#8243; header_2_font_size=&#8221;28px&#8221; header_2_line_height=&#8221;1.4em&#8221; background_color=&#8221;#c8cf44&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;10px|2%|0px|2%&#8221; header_font_size_tablet=&#8221;22px&#8221; header_font_size_phone=&#8221;&#8221; header_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|phone&#8221; custom_css_main_element=&#8221;display: inline-block;&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h1>Expectactions &amp; pathways<\/h1>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.27.7&#8243; text_font=&#8221;Roboto Condensed||||||||&#8221; text_text_color=&#8221;#003d58&#8243; text_font_size=&#8221;26px&#8221; text_line_height=&#8221;1.5em&#8221; custom_padding=&#8221;|2%||2%&#8221; text_font_size_tablet=&#8221;16px&#8221; text_font_size_phone=&#8221;&#8221; text_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|phone&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Signatories<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>commit to implementing the<span>\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.poseidonprinciples.org\/finance\/principles\/\">four principles<\/a><span>\u00a0<\/span>in their internal policies, procedures, and standards and to work in partnership with their clients and partners on an ongoing basis to implement the Poseidon Principles. text_font_size_tablet=&#8221;16px&#8221; text_font_size_phone=&#8221;&#8221; text_font_size_last_edited=&#8221;on|phone&#8221; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p>Institutions wishing to become a signatory or an associate member of the Poseidon Principles must:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Complete and send the Standard Declaration, Application, and Membership Agreement to the secretariat.<\/li>\n<li>For signatories only: complete and submit the Self-Assessment to the Secretariat within five months of becoming a signatory.<\/li>\n<li>Pay the relevant fees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All relevant documents are available from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.poseidonprinciples.org\/finance\/#contacts\">the secretariat<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Upon joining, signatories and associate members automatically become members of the Poseidon Principles Association, the non-profit association responsible for maintaining and promoting the principles.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.16&#8243;
